Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, Sichuan, China

The Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area lies in the Chinese region of Sichuan and is characterised by picturesque scenery of colourful lakes and small enclosed Tibetan villages. The locals consider sacred the mountain and the watercourses of the area. Every lake has its own characteristics and is given a name.

It is a park requiring an entrance fee to be paid and is visitable from 7.00 am to 6 pm during high season.

The area was hit by a strong 7.0 magnitude earthquake on the 8th of August 2017 that killed some people and partly spoiled the site.
