Mantua Lakes
Mantua is located in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is surrounded on three sides by artificial lakes created during the 12th century as a means of defence that receive the water from the Mincio river. The three lakes are called Lago Superiore, Lago di Mezzo e Lago Inferiore (Upper, Middle and Lower Lakes). All along the lakes there is a park and along the Upper Lake, facing West, it is possible to watch the sun setting on the water.
